- Pod casting is an application that allows people to listen or see broadcasts or websites on various electronic devices. Pod casts can be created on the web through websites such as i tunes or audacity. Podcast subscriptions can be obtained online and listened to at anytime. Pod casting can be used in the classroom to support any subject matter to enhance creativity, learning,motivation and exploration. Students can use pod casting in the classroom to listen to various subjects instead of listening to lecture. This would be beneficial for students to learn better by listening to audio rather than reading print. Students who missed assignments or need to study can listen at home via their mp3 player or computer.
- There are some differences and similarities between pod casting and other web 2.0 applications such as voice threads, and blogs. Like, blogging and other web. tools, pod casts can be created by computer and shared with anyone. The difference in pod casting and other web applications is that to create a pod cast pod-catching applications have to be downloaded to use them. It takes planning and a microphone to create the podcast. Podcast are portable which means that they can be listened to on many electronic devices. Pod casts are not read they are listened to or watched by video. Most web 2.0 applications are read online.
- Reflection: I do not own an I pod or mp3 player. My children have and use it constantly. My kids us it mainly for listening to music. I believe that it would be a good support for classroom use. Students can listen to assignments or study for a test. Online communication tools is good for research and learning from others. Applications such as blogging allows students to create a ideas and get feed back from it. Advantages of online tools include being able to explore other places of learning other than in the confinements of the classroom. Feed back can come from other places than the classroom when children blog or visit websites.

I totally agree with your ideas on podcasting. I think it would have an advantage in the classroom for students to use to listen to lessons, vocabulary, and flocabulary. I believe that since technology is spreading and being open in more schools that the usage for mp3's and iPods would be a good positive incentive on helping them stay motivated to learn.
